Webview

The webview is a graphical user interface for Muxgram that you can access via a web browser.

To access the webview from a browser, go to the following web page:

https://muxgram/youraccountname/admin

where "youraccountname" is the handle for your Muxgram account. This is the web page you are redirected to after signing up for an account using your mobile phone number. To login, you enter your phone number and then you will receive a text message with an access code. Your number will need to be given superuser access.

To access the webview via Slack, send the Slack command:

/muxgram webview

which will return a one-time use personalized link to a webpage that will log you into your account. All Slack users can access the webview and you do not need give their phone numbers superuser access. For the Standard plan, only one Slack user can access the webview at a time. For the Professional plan, an unlimited number of Slack users can access the webview at a time.

Conversation

The conversation view is the first thing you see when you login to your Muxgram account on the web. It is where you can send/receive messages and manage your users.

To add a user, enter the user name and phone number in the "Add user" form in the top section of the left panel.

Add User

To chat with the user, just click on their name and it will take you to the conversation view for that specific user. You can remove, block, or add them as a superuser. Remove will remove them from your user list. Block will remove them but also never allow them to message you again.

Tags

Tags are a powerful tool to help organize and to develop a profile of your users. You can see a list of all the tags you are using in the top section of the left panel. The #all tag is a special tag that refers to all of your known users. It does not include phone numbers that you have chatted with but not added as users.

To add a tag to a user, click on the user's name and go to the conversation view for that specific user. In the left panel you will see the form "Add tag to...", where you can add a new tag to the user.

Add Tag

If you click on a tag in the "Tags" section in the main view or a tag in the conversation view for a specific user, it will go to the tag view for that specific tag. In the tag view, you will see a list of all the users who have that tag in the left panel. You can remove a tag from a user by clicking on the remove link next to their name.

On the right panel, there is a form to broadcast a message to all the users that have that tag.

Broadcast

There are two options on how to send the broadcast message. One is to schedule for future delivery. You can choose a date and time for when you want it delivered.

Schedule

The other is to send it as a postcard. The postcard feature will convert all of the text into an image and send that image instead of the raw text. This is useful for sending long messages, especially since some carriers don't support concatenated messages and so the message will be broken up and potentially out of order, plus it gives it a nicer look with the background color and branding at the bottom.

Postcard

You can also send a broadcast message directly from Slack using the Muxgram slash command. Instead of using the phone number (i.e. +14152003446), use the tag instead:

/muxgram #all Hello world!
